*** NEW BOOK***

We are now starting on the third book which will cover 1960 to 2003

We would like to hear from everyone who has memories of living or working in Letchworth during that period or who would like to help with the project.

We are also collecting photos. We have put together a special display of photos which you will see in Letchworth. Click here to see them in more detail. Use the slideshow view for the best display.
Do you have any photos of:-
  • Special Events (eg The Queens Visit)
  • Old Buildings(eg Firestation)
  • New developments (Lordship & Manor Park development)
If so, please contact us. Click here to see more details of the project.

Examples of photos collected for previous books are shown throughout the site. On many of them, if you click on the picture, a larger version will popup.

This website introduces some of the stories we have collected so far. There are sections covering the main periods. In each of these are some of the stories and recollections from those times.

So far we have published two books. 'Letchworth Recollections' covers the period 1903 to 1939 and 'Letchworth Remembered' covers from 1939 to 1960.
